How to Become an Interior Designer

You have a flair for decorating and haven’t decided about college. Do you need to get a college education or just go to design classes?  Would you like to find out how to become an interior designer? People in the field of interior design are expected to have an Bachelor’s degree before attending design specific classes. A designer is expected to read blueprints, understand architecture, safety codes and building codes. An interior designer will also need to learn CAD (Computer Aided Design) systems, drawing, furniture and color design. Students would also learn about architecture and understand spacial planning, ergonomics and building materials. Upon graduation they would be required to study under an apprenticeship for one to three years before taking the tests for licensing.
