What’s the importance of a marriage certificate?
What is it about a marriage certificate that is so endearing. I mean, it’s only a piece of paper. After thinking long and hard about this subject, I’ve come to the conclusion that the certificate is basically the paper embodiment of the marriage. Without it, you might as well never have gotten married at all.
The thing is, you need some kind of physical manifestation of your ceremony. You have the rings, sure, but everybody has those. The wedding certificate can take up physical space on your mantle, showing the world that you have made this commitment. When you have the Jones’s come over for dinner, you’ll be glad you took this advice to display your certificate in an obvious place.
