Give Riesling Another Chance
While I am by no means a wine connoisseur, I do know what I like and have a semi-knowledgeable palette. I typically do not like Riesling wines and often ask for a different selection in its place. However, I recently attended a local restaurant’s “Wine Appreciation Evening.” They serve a fixed seven course menu and pair a different wine with each offering. Our appetizer was an exciting cheese tray with several different varieties from worldwide regions. The wine pairing was a Mosel-Saar-Ruwer Wine, which was a Riesling. I was shocked at how much I enjoyed it. It was high in acidity and yet surprisingly delicate. What a revelation!
