Heaps of guys start out an exercise routine thinking about the end result being based on the muscle groups they focus on during the workout. This is totally false. If you focus on your arms for example, you won’t lose fat from your arms (ie. get ripped arms). You will develop your arm muscles and you will even increase your metabolic rate a little which will contribute to some extent to the overall fat that is burned in your body to help you get ripped.
