There are many rewarding benefits of process mapping for the business who chooses to use them effectively.  Depending on the goal of the mapping, the results may or may not show, in obvious detail, exactly where a project is headed and what to expect as an end result.  The idea of improvements can give a new dimension to mapping and charting with future projects in mind.  Using some form of process mapping will indicate where focus needs to be aimed for improvements and new directions to go in for future endeavors.
